An actor who is best known for his role of Winklevoss twins in the film The Social Network (2010), Armie Hammer left his fans wondering what happened to the star after they noticed Hammer’s exit from Twitter.
But, the Call Me by Your Name star spoke out what led him to does so, during TheWrap’s Screening Series in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, he explained why he deactivate his account on social media.
Hammer explained his decision to the audience, “I just have no impulse control so if somebody says something stupid, I couldn’t help but say something back, and then it just exploded.” He added, “This is a toxic environment, and my life is way better off.”
The star continued, “It’s so funny — People are so addicted and into Twitter, it seems crazy that someone could walk away from it! They’re like, ‘Wait, he deleted it?’ It was actually really easy.”
And now, here is the actual reason behind his decision to delete his Twitter account; before making the decision the Call Me by Your Name star reached out to BuzzFeed’s article which titled “10 Long Years of Trying to Make Armie Hammer Happy.”
While looking at Hammer’s career in Hollywood, the article asked the question — “How many second chances does a handsome white male star get?”
After coming across the article he ultimately took his Twitter before deleting his account from it and said of the writer, “Your chronology is spot on but your perspective is bitter AF.” He continued, “Maybe I’m just a guy who loves his job and refuses to do anything but what he loves to do…?”
Eventually, the star is currently focusing on his latest movie that is receiving a positive response from the film critics, the film is generating so much buzz as the film got huge boots in the race of Oscar. In addition, Call Me by Your Name has recently won the Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Feature.
